How to make a full version with expiry date / time limitation?

It is possible to generate a time limited full version, e.g. to lease a version for a specific time. Limitation is possible either

•	by x days after the activation is done or

•	by a specified expiry date

Step 1 - generate a trial version

Generate a trial version, which is either time limited

•	by x days after the first usage Ú use Number of days to evaluate

•	by a specified expiry date Ú use End of Evaluation

or if testing is not necessary, select No evaluation version - Serial number needed to start

Uncheck Remove time limitation after Copy Protection is turned on to leave the version in a time limited status after the Serial Number is used.

Step 2 - Create an Unlock Key

Create an Unlock Key either with or without Copy Protection. You will get 2 keys. Both keys have to be applied.

Step 3 - Create an Activation Key with the desired time limitation

An additional key is necessary, to set the desired time limitation for the full version either

•	by x days after the activation is done or

•	by a specified expiry date

Create an key for additional licences with the following options:

•	Hardware ID if you used an Unlock Key with Copy Protection

•	Additional licences = 0 - this option does not modify the number of licences

•	Number of days to evaluate = number of days the full version can be used or

•	End of evaluation = final expiry date for the full version

First modify the automatically generated configuration file (Config-Autogenerator-NamePlayer.xml) for the Web Activation Server. Open the Config-Autogenerator-NamePlayer.xml with an XML Editior.

Delete the line Demoversion and add a line ValidUntilDay. Either put there a final expiry date (like 15.02.2007) or define how many days the licence should be valid after activation with + number of days

Sample:

ValidUntilDay 15.02.2007 - Expiry Date is always on this day

ValidUntilDay +365 - Expiry Date is Activation Date + 365 Days

The date has to be set in the local format of the Web Activation server, e.g. 02/15/2007

The Online Activation will now create a time limited full version.

If you have to make a manual Unlock Key create the Unlock Key using the Web Activation Server.
