The simplest way to send an SMS is to use a template.

 

Click on the picklist text: Select SMS Template... to select a template.

 

 

 

It is automatically inserted in the text area of the SMS. The template can include variables like the contact name or your name and e-mail address.

 

 

 

Only the Salesforce administrator can create SMS templates. See SMS Template Setup.
