Create an User Assigned Managed Identity

 

1. On the Microsoft Azure Home Page click on Create a resource

 

 

 

 

 

Search for User Assigned Managed Identity and click Create.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select your correct information and give a name (based on your naming convention) to the Identity as shown in the example below.

 

 

After the deployment, click on Go to resource.

 

 

2. Assigning role

 

On the left menu click on Azure role assignments

Then assign the User Assigned Managed Identity as a contributor to the Storage Account you created earlier.

 

 

 

 

 

3. Add the User Assigned Managed Identity to Automation Account

 

Go to the Automation Account you created earlier.

On the left menu click on Identity.

Add the User Assigned Managed Identity from the User assigned tab as shown below.
