A product activation is normally done once per product and triggers a workflow like:
| • | Activate copy protection |
| • | Make a full version which is not time limited or which expires at a certain date |
To activate a product, a Serial Number or ID is used, which is unique. The Activation Server ensures that the Serial Number / ID can be used only within the defined maximum usage limits.
