If you want to make an online product activation using a Serial Number, but you don't want to activate copy protection, the Activation Server files have to be modified as follows.
project.config file In the project.config file, remove the parameter <InstCodeTypex>. Find a typical configuration file sample below

In the workflow configuration file, set the parameter <CreateCopyProtectionKey> to no.
