The CTI adapter now works with the salesforce Service Cloud
The subject line of the activity is configurable. Instead of the salesforce default value Call 12/06/2011 e.g. configure Incoming call 11:38 (or add date and time)
If a call was not successful (e.g. the line is busy) you can configure if this call should be documented in the activity history or not
Configure, if you want to autosave outgoing or incoming calls. In previous versions, every call was saved
Users of the Salesforce Professional Edition do not need to buy the API
Advanced Caller identification - e.g. it does not matter if the phone number is stored as +49(0)7525-529339, 00497525529.339 or 07525/529339 - the phone numbers are rebuild depending on country specific rules
Supports caller identification for multiple calls at the same time
With some PBX systems evens have been handled wrong - the SoftPhone either did not show an event or was never terminated
Configuration wizard
The TAPI driver is now displayed with the same name like in the control panel
Some TAPI drivers have been displayed with an empty line instead with the name of the driver
Update Eligibility
The service pack requires a valid version of CTI Data Connector for Salesforce release 3.0 to install. Otherwise it will install as a trial version.
When should you install the update?
•If a version 3.0 to 3.0.3 is installed, the update is essential and should be installed
•If version 3.0.4 is installed, the update is only required if
oSalesforce Professional Edition is used and the API is not required for other applications
othere is a problem with the events in the SoftPhone
To check which version is installed, open the Call Center Adapter (Setup > AppSetup > Customize > Call Center > Call Centers) and check the field: Config Version
Installed Version of the call center adapter
Installation of the Update
The update requires a full new installation. An uninstall of the older version is not necessary. The Call Center Adapter has to be imported and configured again.
In case you are using version 3.0 to 3.0.3, the update will install on a new program folder. After the installation, copy the license file cdcsfe.lic from the old folder (default is c:\program files\CTI Data Connector - salesforce.com Edition 3.0) to the new installation folder (default is c:\program files\CTI Data Connector for salesforce 3.0). The old folder can be deleted.
