CTI Data Connector for Salesforce® integrates in Skype for Business supporting landline phone calls (PSTN calling). This offers several advantages in comparison with a regular PBX:

It works in Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience as well as the Sales and Service Cloud Console.

On each local PC a small application has to be installed - CTI Data Connector - Skype for Business Link. It connects to the Skype for Business client application and sends the phone information to the Mirage Cloud Service.
•A Skype for Business Client 2015 or 2016 is required with an office E3 or E5 plan including calling plans (Desk Phones are not supported)
•Windows 7 to Windows 10
A gateway to the PSTN (landline phone numbers) is required. There are 3 options
•Microsoft offers in some countries (Belgium / France / Germany / Ireland / Netherlands / Spain / US / UK - click here for complete list) the PSTN service . You order that through the office 365 account.
•Cloud service providers offering the PSTN service for Skype for Business like Pfalzcloud (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Nfon (Germany), Nextel (Belgium), TDC group (Denmark) or Arkadin (global) ,G3 Comms, Claranet (UK) or MyNetFone Group (Australia)
•On-premise Skype for Business / Lync server with a gateway to the on-premise PBX
